news about ugg shoes from other sites

Many people questioned the aesthetic of the boot (our Aussie friends think we're crazy for wearing footwear they see as slippers on the street), but having the celebrity endorsement of big names like Kate Moss drove sales sky high.

'Now everyone and their mother has a pair. They are undeniably a wardrobe staple, but the ubiquitous Ugg boot is no longer a style statement.

'Rather it's a pair of comfortable boots you might pop to the shops in - and you'd be hoping you wouldn't bump into your chicest friend.
Are we over Uggs? Sales of the Australian boots have fallen 31 per cent this year
'As with any trend, unless it evolves, it will die. For the Ugg sheepskin boot to make a comeback now it would take time or a total reinvention - and I'm not sure even Jimmy Choo could bring them back to life now.
'Saying that, Ugg have plenty more styles to fall back on - from very chic biker boots to heeled knee boots - so the Ugg brand is not under threat just because the sheepskin boot is no longer a trend item.'
The sheepskin boot's image wasn't helped by other bad publicity, such as doctors commenting that the shoes were bad for the feet because their unstructured design offered no support, and a judge at a recent hearing in Manchester Crown Court who ruled the footwear was unsafe to drive in.
Men will be delighted to hear the shoes are falling out of favour as in a survey conducted by the website MSN, they were voted as one of the top 10 items men don't like women to wear.
Writer Martin Daubney admitted in the Daily Mail earlier this year that he hates to see his wife Diana in the 'sexless footwear'.
He said: 'There’s never there been more sexless footwear than the Ugg, which should be renamed the Urgh. I don't know one man who likes them. Di's Ugg boots are the yang to the ying of the zipped Gucci heels she used to wear.'
Ugg have tried to boost sales of their soft boot by branching into other areas including bridal wear.
Earlier this year they launched the 'I Do' line - a three-piece capsule collection including a white sequin-studded boot, a silver suede boot with a rhinestone button, and a white fluffy flip-flop.
